Competition Overview
FYI: Filipino Youth Innovation is a business plan competition organized by the Inter-University Management Alliance, in partnership with GKonomics, between students of Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University – Manila, and University of the Philippines – Diliman. The competition aims to engage students in social entrepreneurship and make them consider it not only as a viable career option, but more importantly, a fulfilling and exciting choice.
The competition will challenge the participating teams to come up with a business that will give livelihood or be beneficial to Gawad Kalinga communities, and at the same time, will have market potential and sustainability.
By the end of the competition, we would succeed in making the participants realize that business can be used to improve lives and help alleviate poverty in the Philippines and in igniting nationalism among the participants and audience.

Awards and Prizes
The top ten participating teams will get the chance to
- pitch their business ideas to angel investors,
- be one of the selected sustainable business enterprice to receive a start-up capital of the Php100,000 from angel investors*, and
- receive post-competition assistance and mentorship from GKonomics and angel investors
